Fayonagh

Just wondering what people's thoughts are on this mare.

Best price 7/2 for mares novice.

Punchestown Champion bumper form not working out well at all with 3rd 4th & 5th yet to win at odds of 4/7, 11/10, 11/10, 9/4 & 11/8.

Cheltenham Bumper form is not too hot either.

34 runs, 7 wins, 11 places, 16 unplaced excluding Fayonagh.

Debuchet won a bumper by beating a horse it had already beat with the winning distance reduced from 8L to 5L.

Another win came in a class 4 bumper worth £3k at Ludlow by 6th placed Dans La Vent scraping home by a neck at odds of 2/5.

West Coast Time won a maiden in Ireland before being stuffed by 30L+ next time out.

16th Robin The Raven won two novice hurdles before being stuffed by 15L last time out.

Irish Roe beaten first time out has since won 2 novice hurdles.

Re: Fayonagh

id give the bumper form more time imo, wait till they start jumping hurdles as well ,a race like that its too early to say how strong the form is especially just by judging on bumpers after.

Re: Fayonagh

I agree the form of that bumper win is quite strong but I wasnt that impressed with her on her first start of the season. There was a point up the straight where I thought something might run on past her. I think the more time goes on this season the shorter she will be by winning grade 3s etc so if you do fancy her maybe take the price now but certainly not for me by any means

Re: Fayonagh

The form of those 2 bumpers nearly always works out..

But for me its not so much what she beat in those races its the way she did it.

In her first 2 wins last season she made all...I had a good bet on her at Cheltenham and thought all chance had gone when the tapes went up..She just stood still and was stone last, where she remained until 1 1/2 furlongs out when she 'took off'.
Punchestown was a lot more straight forward made all.

She prob didn't beat much on Saturday but then again she hardly broke sweat. She jumped like a pro over the last 2 and trainer stated that she would come on for the run beforehand.

I always like to cotton onto a super star each season and follow them through, last year Thistlecrack this year Fayonagh.

She already is special but only a very few stay that way.

Re: Fayonagh

Cause Toujours beat in a novice hurdle today, was favourite for the bumper and finished 9th 10L behind Fayonagh.

Re: Fayonagh

Lalor beat today in a novices hurdle at odds of 10/11.

Didn't run in the Cheltenham bumper but won the Aintree one and had lots of horses from the Cheltenham bumper in behind.

Re: Fayonagh

Absolutely gutted to hear that Fayonagh is no longer with us. So young & had so much talent.

Re: Fayonagh

Almost one year to the day when Vautour was the victim of a "freak accident".

A demoralising coincidence to lose two fine horses at such an early stage of their respective campaigns.

Re: Fayonagh

Very sad news. Commiserations to connections and to all involved with the horse.
