World Champ's Snooker..

I love the Snooker Champ's as it is all about the mental toughness and stamina... Gold Cupesque  one might say..

No surprises who I am going for the greatest player to ever put chalk onto a cue... Ronald Antonio O' Sullivan 5/1...  a.k.a  The Rocket,147 master, genius, the best we have ever seen..  the legend..

I think this year he will be at his most competitive and I really hope he goes and wins.. and comes back next year to equal Hendry's 7...  either way he is by far the greatest we will ever see..  and you only have to look at tournament's he does not enter..  half full not even half..  when he plays the tickets are like gold dust..  I love him as what he done 5/6 years ago is just mind boggling to win it.. take a year off!!  and come back and defend it and win it like... yeah it's a piece of piss really.. is just so.. so cool.. he is the best.. Alex was good.. Jimmy was electric..  but Ronnie you are the one who broke the mould and turned the game on it's head..  nearly 800 century's... 14 maximums... 6 uk's, 7 masters, 5 world's.. and many other ranking tournaments.. amazing..  I know a guy here in Ireland who paid him a great complement..  in the early 90,s you could become pro by paying for your card.. but you also had to qualify..  so all these young lads from Eire jumped on board the boat over to Blackpool to play..  and some of them done ok and some not so good... but this guy said all their dreams were smashed when a young kid from London came and played that summer of 1991.. he won 73 of 75  matches...  he was...
 Ronald Antonio O' Sullivan..  so they soon realised if he is that good now.. what is the point of going pro or even trying...  so sadly a lot of those guys ended up just packing the game in.. hence that is why Snooker is dying a death here in Dublin.. it's on it's knees..
I hope you go and win Ronnie as you are defo one of my sporting Heroes!!

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

G'wan the Rocket....  tis yours for the taking old son.. go out there and show the wannabes who the Daddy is...  147 coming on strong with the strength of a hurricane!!  sorry Alex R.I.P ... I know you will be looking down on him wishing him the best...  can't wait my favourite time of year with all the great sport on offer....  if this is to be your swan song Ronnie go out in style... as you so often say..." I wipe the floor with that lot.. with my left hand""  for me you never got the credit you deserve...  and when that beautiful John Parris is put away for good..  Snooker will become extinct..  the greatest the was or ever will be...  roll on Saturday and let the games begin!!  whhho huw!!

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

Looks like Mr smug Murphy should of replied no comment!! As the Rocket sure did put some manners on Shaun.. Very lucky it is not 7-1.. 6-2.. Well happy.. My 5/1 feels pretty big now... Oh there is only one rocket. The rest are making up the numbers.

Stephen Maguire 20/1 ew playing the best he's ever played - will be disappointed if he doesn't win his half of the draw. Avoids all the big boys until the final too.

Hawkins v Maguire - First session correct score, split stakes;

Hawkins 6-2 @ 9/2
Hawkins 5-3 @ 13/5

5-3 will do quite nicely000

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

Ronnie is 7/2 to beat ding.. Now.. 10-6.. but in that last frame Ronnie was smiling after just potting around 28 points so I think he was giving Ding a message saying " listen old son Im still the daddy here.. Watch out mate I'll wipe the floor with ya!!"".. I really hope you just win this match Ronnie as I know you can still do it like if the rocket wins the first 2/3 then Ding will fold over.. He will be just shattered if that happens.. Plus I really want to see Ronnie get revenge against Selby.. So Ronnie I ain't giving up on ya!! G'wan Ronnie!!!!

Whilst it does seem an impossible task (though it has been done before at the Crucible) if anyone can rattle off 7 straight frames in a row, it's the Rocket. As Bob says, Ding's confidence will begin to waver if Ronnie gets the first 2 or 3 frames, so i thought, "What if he does do it?" Looked at the prices and, while the rest are around the 25/1 - 30/1 mark, i've had just a couple of quid (makes it interesting) with Sky, who go;

Ronnie O'Sullivan 13-10 @ 50/1

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

Well even if he does not win what a 146 from Ronnie,..  like if there was £50,000 for it he defo would have got it..  I think he was sending Barry Hearn a little message saying..
 " your bunched with out me Baz""..  like there should be some special prize for making one in Snooker's spiritual home..  anyhow I am on at a terrible 10/1 for him to win the Championship..that's all they were laying for the rocket after 10-6 to Ding last night...  still on at 7/2 to beat Ding in this match... if he could just nick this first frame of the second session to make it 11-10 I think Ronnie will take this from Ding.. and if he does watch out cause this would be incredible..  in my eyes anyhow the greatest natural talent any sport has ever seen..  he is my number one sporting hero..  as I just love the guy for his absolute magic.. his cool.. his brilliance.. he is with out doubt Snookers King...  G'wan Rocket go and show them who the main man is.. and always will be...

 Ronald Antonio O' Sullivan A.K.A the Rocket 1st...  the rest making up the numbers!!

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

Hard luck Ronnie.. you did amazing like to get back so close to Ding who was really outstanding.. you have done great.. and so beautiful to see two great sportsmen hug it out after a brilliant fight.. there is so much love and respect there between two of the games most exciting players.. I would love to see Ding go and win it now.. and first look at 11/4  I think is very disrespectful to Ding as he is as good if not better then Selby.. would he beat a john Higgins from 7/8 years ago??  who knows but for my bets going forward I will defo be looking to back Ding.. and maybe to cover my bets I might stick Ding plus a few frames against Selby with a few soccer teams and Fayonagh to run it into a few quid..  anyhow another one gone by nearly now so... I think Ronnie if you could win another U.K, Masters.. and even one more Worlds..  you will have done really, really great... please do not retire as I depend on you so much.. I know that sounds a little freaky but I really do look forward to seeing you play as for me it is a joy to behold!!
Till next year rock on Ronnie..  don't ever doubt him cause he will be back.

Selby is the best in the world by a mile, I'll be amazed if he doesn't win the whole thing now.

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

Selby the best in the World by a mile??? ah lord Jaysus thats the best joke I have heard in a while... he is outstandly good...  but if you were to ask anyone even Hendry himself would admit.. Ronnie is streets ahead of them.. like could Selby make a 146 in the style that Ronnie could.. or 147 in 5 mins 20 seconds??..  don't thnk so.. but look everyone is entitled to their opinions and Selby has done me many favours i remember he was 5-3 down to Stuart Bingham in the 2012 Masters I think it was and I backed him B.I.R to win the match @ 15/2.. and to win the Masters @33/1  which he did do beat G.Dott in the Semi's and N.Robesrtson in the final..  so I don't have anything but love for the guy...  but the Rocket is the best by light years.. not miles!!

I have Ding @11/4  to win it outright.. so I hope you get your revenge Ding and what a final that would be Ding v Higgins...  sounds better then Selby v Hawkins..

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

I done Higgins +3.5 frames @ 5/6 with chelsea 19/20..  and Arsenal 10/3...  I really hope Arsenal stick it to Spurs..  as I would love to see the Arsenal beat their City rivals.. I think they would rather do Chelsea a favour then.. Spurs.. either way my €10 treble is still on.. I suppose if Arsenal go a goal up I could always do Spurs and the draw..  even better if Arsenal go 2 up!!

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

if only Arsenal could play as a team and pass the F@@king ball to each other i.e Ramsey glory hunting D@@khead.. Alexis.. not far behind him..  anyhow wrong thread but still so annoying.. been a fan since I was 5 so I ain't gonna jump ship..  just become a disaster of a team to watch..  not gut's.. no men on the team.. and Wenger has done all he can..  so another year gone!!  and the F.A Cup is only a consalation now if we even get that!!

Re: World Champ's Snooker..

I was ready to lump on at 4/6 when he was 6-2... but that last frame for Selby is a body blow... still think Higgins will win..  he is now 10/11  so I don't know.. I am gonna go 18-14 to John  as Selby is tough as they come.. but I think if John wins the first frame or 2 this score line looks right..  it's 10/1  so I will stick a €10 on it for the craic!!
