Watch out for Al Mancilia in the 6.45
I think this flynn trained horse is ready to win,was fancied last time and withdrawn because of ground
If I hear anything definite I will update tomorrow

17:40-After Akatara finding the winning groove at last perhaps Boxer Beat can also finally get off the mark.  Been in good heart of late and the cheekpieces are now reached for for the first time and the best apprentice in the land Ronan Whelan gets the leg up on him.  Also this looks a more suitable trip than the 1m2f he ran over last time.

Re: Ballinrobe - Evening Mixed Card - Tuesday 25th June 2013

Tricky enough card

5.10 New River (each way) showed some fair form on the flat in England, placing in a 1m2f Newmarket maiden on good ground and finishing 2nd in a 1m4f Windsor handicap off 72 on good to firm. She joined the Dessie Hughes yard over the winter and showed some fair form over hurdles, finishing 2nd in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle in Feb and placing in a 2m Navan maiden hurdle in April. The first time visor didn’t appear to work as she disappointed on her latest hurdles start but Dessie Hughes won this race in 2010 with a hurdler and he’s had a recent flat winner. New River should like the good ground and could go well at a fair price.

Re: Ballinrobe - Evening Mixed Card - Tuesday 25th June 2013

always tricky trying to pick out winners at ballinrobe this close to Galway as this is normally the start of silly season in Ireland where all the trainers have an eye on galway and start to get marks for handicaps as a result my tried and tested method is to try and go with local trainers and course winners.

5.10 Dancers dilemma (Each Way)
i expect massive improvement from this horse he won a bumper in a canter on good ground against some decent horses since then the ground has been against him on all starts bar his latest start where he had to give weight away to a bunch of 3 yr olds over a shorter trip which wouldn't of played to his strengths. That was also his first run in a while which should of blown away the cobwebs.I can see him going for either a novice hurdle at galway or the gpt handicap on the flat.to get into the gpt i reckon he would have to win this or go close.I think he will be way overpriced in this as he will be priced up on recent form.solid bet for me.

5.40 Boxer Beat (Each Way)
Indeed very similar to akatara however he has ideal ground conditions and this trip could be ideal for him and if the cheekpieces sharpen him up and he trips fitter from his recent runs then i can see him going close in this.worth backing each way.

6.10 Balmont belle (Each Way)
Shaped nicely on her debut and while there are a few with chances in this i think she is worth a small each way bet.She should come on from her initial run and i think she can reverse the form with one true love who looks exposed i would be worried about dermot weld and kevin prendergasts horses but the others don't look exciting.

6.45 Furcano (Each Way)
al mancilla, daigreen, the ring is king, and norah star  are all likely types for galway and i believe are out to get prepared for there.I could be wrong but knowing the trainers Im sure they have there galway on the radar for those horses.the three to concentrate on here are Furcano(Trainer hates Galway)Grumption and the reek.Slight preference is for Furcano who looks like he will appreciate the fast ground and on his all weather form he has a race like this in him.Smullen a positive booking also for the yard and he rides ballinrobe better than any other Jockey.Solid each way bet for me.

7.15 King William (Each Way)
Ebzan is the one to beat in this and will improve an awfull lot on what he has shown so far as he needs good ground to be at his best. His yard are in good form aslo so i expect him to be  hard to beat. However at the prices I will be having a small each way bet on King william this will also be the first time he runs on good ground (not sure if he needs it as trans islands are normally at their best with cut in the ground).Either way his bumper runs were solid and he should come on from his recent comeback/hurdles debut.small each way bet.

7.50 Opening night
Watch the market i think this horse is potentially very well handicapped on his flat form.He has had the 3 mandatory runs the question mark really is whether the trainer lets the handbrake off here i think he can win a race like this from his mark.He might just need the experience here and this could be a prep for galway so watch market for any clues.

8.25 Lortzing (Each Way)
Ground and trip will suit and interesting connections opt for first time hood again with this yard money down is a great sign.He showed defeinate signs of improving on his latest run and i reckon the ground had somthing to do with that.Small each way bet in a race that wont take much winning

Be careful he has a similar profile to South South west whom i had my eye on around this time last year the amount of messing that went on with him has to be seen to be believed before he bolted up at galway look at the videos of his 4-5 runs before galway last year a pure joke i remember the rider losing his steering on one occasion too.Pure getting his mark down which i think they will do with this horse.I think he can win this race too but depends on whether they are trying or not

Re: Ballinrobe - Evening Mixed Card - Tuesday 25th June 2013

Great tipping on here last night well done to all!!

Looking at tonight's card at ballinrobe, there's a couple I like in the flat races.

5.10 - pyrus gold wind 12/1 paddy power
Trainer has his string in fine order. He has previously said that this horse wouldn't handle heavy ground and the better the ground has been, the better he preformed. He was set some pretty tough tasks in the past being beaten by the likes of piqué sous, Annie power, mad Brian and the most impressive un de scheaux(a horse who I think could be a champion hurdle horse if he could settle) but all of those defeats were on ground he wouldn't handle. His form on yielding or better reads 418 with his most recent one suspect as he was very tenderly handled and was never put into the race. I have a feeling a handicap hurdle at the Galway festival could be the target but he could run in a flat handicap also at the festival (trainers local track). With the exciting Conor king taking off 7lbs, pyrus gold wind could get involved in the finish with him lacking nothing from the saddle in an open looking race.

5.40 - skiing in tune 10/1 bet victor
Another trainer and jockey in great form. Pat Flynn has his string in fine fettle with 12 winners/placers from his last 30 runners with a couple of fourths and fifths also. Skiing in tune returned from a break on soft ground in limerick in a muddling race where the form is questionable. Second has been beaten miles twice since while some horses failed to shine on that day like little green, massabini and castle guest all running much improved races next time out while speed dial is consistent and killourney express came out to win since. His next run is particularly interesting. It was on firm ground over a mile and a half in tramore(sharp track not unlike ballinrobe). He finished third beaten 9l by bobskier with positive vibes just getting up to catch him for second when he was eased up. Libertys gift was behind and has come out to fill up the runner up spot in a flat handicap and handicap hurdle since. Blue ridge lane was also behind that day and was just beaten in Roscommon before winning at limerick on Friday. Skiing in tune was wearing first time cheek pieces that day and if they do the trick again and keep him concentrating on racing, and his fitness has improved(pat Flynns horses improve with racing), then he should go close tonight off a basement mark. While pat Flynn has only had 6 winners at ballinrobe from 96 runners, he has had 24 placings and I'm hoping skiing in tune can add to that at the least.

6.10 - Belmont belle 10/1 paddy power
ballinrobe should be delighted with the turnout. Some powerful yards and very well bred fillies take their chance in this 9f maiden. Aidan o briens one true love has been bitterly disappointing and not one to be backing at around 11/8. One that could represent a bit of value is Tracey Collins filly. She is by the American bred Balmont, who's progeny have a liking for better ground. She started off her career in a good Nass maiden won by ramsa(one true love close second) over 7f when she was tenderly handled and took the eye. On that bare form she has almost 4l to find with one true love but with the extra 2f and that experience behind her, I'm expecting her to put it upto the likely favourite. About that race, it was slightly faster than the course average and out of it, one true love has twice been beaten but I think it's her lack of love of racing that got her beat rather than any lack of ability. The seventh, violet hour has come out in a very hot leopardstown maiden and finished a good fourth.(winner second in the moyglare last year to none other than sky lantern). I am expecting a good show from Tracey Collins filly but there are a few in this that could outrun their odds.

Three each way bets.

In the 6.45 two horses supported  Al Manilia (already  tipped up by Lucyann ) - 11 to 2
but interesting the support for Paul Flynns THE RING IS KING - into 6 to 1 now.
Paul Flynn also rides this one....but hasnt had a win in a while as a trainer.

Coosan Belle well supported in the 8.25 for the out of form Shark Hanlon !
9 to 1 from 16`s.

Re: Ballinrobe - Evening Mixed Card - Tuesday 25th June 2013

5.10 Dancer's Dilemma's only win has been in a bumper on this track and he can do it again tonight on ground that will suit him.
5.40 Air Chief may be able to win again. He was a fair performer on the flat in England.
6.10 One True Love should be able to deal with Late Rosebud, Daluka and the disappointing Daymoona.
6.45 Gun Shoot wasn't beaten far lto and can win for the Martin yard which is starting to motor.
7.15 Dawerann has the form to win for Hourigan and give a first win to his new rider and 7lb claimer, Johnny Moore.
7.50 Kim's Dream will again get the firm ground she needs and should be competitive.
8.25 Drumlosh Sallie could be an improving mare.
8.55 Friendly Society could make it a day to remember for his rider. .

Smullen didn't push out on DDilemma. Gave easy enough ride.
If it goes over hurdle or good handicap in  GALWAY it'll carry my money!!!!

From now until Galway one would need to be wary of DKW's runners!

I'll be interested to see how Twilight Solace goes in the betting in the 8:25.  Hinted at ability last time and now steps into handicap company for the first time.  Val O Brien does well at Ballinrobe and they are well able to land a touch.

7.15 King William (Each Way)
Ebzan is the one to beat in this and will improve an awfull lot on what he has shown so far as he needs good ground to be at his best. His yard are in good form aslo so i expect him to be  hard to beat. However at the prices I will be having a small each way bet on King william this will also be the first time he runs on good ground (not sure if he needs it as trans islands are normally at their best with cut in the ground).Either way his bumper runs were solid and he should come on from his recent comeback/hurdles debut.small each way bet.

like this one too war......winner of his maiden hurdle zabanna went on to win next time out aswell beating the 119 rated jessica harrington runner hurricane ridge - ive got a big bet each way on this one..
