Bayern Munich v Mainz - Bayern win & both teams to score.
Bayern will be hurt after that CL exit in which they could feel very unfortunate about, and even though Mainz will be throwing the kitchen sink at this given their position near the foot of the table, I don't think Bayern will be doing them any favours here.
Bayern have won 8 of the last 9 head-to-head's between the two teams, and in 4 of those victories, Mainz came to the party in scoring.
Mainz picked up a huge 3 points in their last match against Hertha Berlin, and will be feeding from that to make another bold effort at the Allianz Arena today, but against a side that have scored 21 goals in their last 4 home games in the league (averaging at 5.25 goals per game), I expect them to land a blow, but receive a few in return.
PSG v Montpellier - PSG to win both halves.
PSG are facing a side who are effectively on already their holidays, Montpellier are in 12th position, and as the old theory goes, need just 1 point from a possible 15 to hit that 40 point target... the home side, however, their season is very much still on, in their hunt to nick the title from Monaco.
Since the turn of the new year alone, the away side have suffered some heavy defeats on their travels; from away trips to Lyon, Marseile & Bordeaux, they have conceded 15 goals (L 5-0, L 5-1, L 5-1), losing all 6 halves. If they turn up in a holiday mindset, they could be crucified by Cavani & co.
Hull v Watford - Hull to win
Like PSG, Hull are hosting another side who are effectively on their holidays. Silva has been absolutely terrific since coming in and replacing Mike Phelan, and if he keeps Hull up, he's worked a minor miracle! The brand of football they're playing is really impressive, particularly with the little lack of quality he has at his disposal, and whatever happens, Marco Silva will have offers from numerous clubs.
He has them in superb form at home, unbeaten in 8 in all competition & winning 7, including beating the likes of Manchester United in the league cup second leg (and outplaying them) & Liverpool.
Expect them to get a vital 3 points today against as said, a team effectively already on their holidays.
Throwing Rafael Nadal, king of the clay, to win the Monte-Carlo Masters as I've been looking to stick that banker in with something.
